Storytellers’ Circle: Gather ‘round for a magical session as Charles Dickens himself shares his enchanting tales (portrayed by Sean Forester, Cambridge). Feel inspired to jump in and read your favorite passages—let your voice join in the festive storytelling!
Melodic Moments: Immerse yourself in uplifting musical and opera performances by Mezzo Soprano Susan Thampi (Cambridge) that echo the spirit of Dickensian gatherings. Let the music fill the room with warmth and joy!
Traditional English Holiday Foods: Savor the delicious flavors of the season as we celebrate with friends old and new!

Sean Forester
Mezzo soprano Susan Thampi began her music journey at the USC Thornton School of Music. Her first major symphony engagements were with the LA Philharmonic under Esa Pekka Salomon. She was an active member of the Thornton Opera with roles in Die Zauberflote, Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd, modern operas such as The Stone House. She went on to be a recording artist and Music Manager for DreamWorks Animation where she sang for both large and independent films such as Madagascar 3, A Helping Hand, and The Fifth Horseman. In 2010, Susan produced and recorded her first solo classical album “Chanson Boheme” which fused operatic arias with ethnic instrumentation for a world music sensibility. She went on to be a choral scholar with the Grammy-winning Trinity College Choir at Cambridge University where she recorded three albums under director Stephen Layton. She has sung with various ensembles in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and London and is currently a member of groups such as Philharmonia Baroque, Volti, Ave, and the San Francisco Symphony Chorus.
Susan completed her MBA at Judge Business School,( Queen’s college) Cambridge.
Sean Forester (BA Liberal Arts, MA Literature) is an artist, lecturer and cultural travel guide. He has over 15 years experience teaching literature and art seminars on a wide variety of topics: Greek Tragedy to Leonardo da Vinci, Russian novels to Japanese gardens. Sean’s unique travel tours bring literature to life: Dante’s Florence, Belle Epoque Paris, Renaissance Venice, Zen and Art in Japan. He is a graduate of the Great Books Program at St. John’s College (USA) and Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge (UK), where he studied as a Rotary Scholar.
Sean is also a classically trained oil painter who has exhibited in Europe and the United States.

Tickets: $95 per person. Both Oxford and Cambridge alumni can purchase the tickets for themselves and one guest (over 18 yrs)
